Duke MyChart Features
My Duke Health offers you a new front page in the patient portal and has a lot more functionality than Duke MyChart alone. The My Duke Health secure website and app also make it easy to schedule appointments, participate in video visits, pay your bills, and initiate an E-visit when you have non-urgent medical needs.
Duke MyChart Features and Benefits
Some of the new features include:
If you would like to sign up for My Duke Health, you can sign up online or follow this step-by-step guide. You can also ask to sign up for My Duke Health the next time you see your Duke provider.
If you already have an activation code, sign up now on the My Duke Health site or on the My Duke Health App page. The My Duke Health app is just like the MyChart app only with more functionality before logging in.
View Your Lab and Test Results
Most lab results are available one business day after they’ve been released. Some take more time so your provider can have a chance to communicate with you.
Schedule Primary Care and Urgent Care Visits
See the available slots in your internal medicine, family medicine, or pediatric provider’s schedule, then select a date and time for your next visit. Use this option to schedule well or sick visits, as well as appointments with a Duke Urgent Care or Duke University student health provider.
Participate in Telehealth Visits
Duke Health offers virtual visits to connect you with a doctor for prompt, safe medical care. These convenient appointments with a primary care provider, urgent care provider, or specialist take place on a mobile device or computer using secure videoconferencing software.
We also offer E-visits with a provider on a mobile device or computer. E-visits do not require a camera.
Which Telehealth Service Should I Use?
If You Have a My Duke Health Account
Most of our telehealth services require that you have a My Duke Health account to schedule and participate in your appointment. This secure electronic portal allows you to:
- Schedule virtual primary and urgent care appointments at https://www.dukehealth.org/treatments/urgent-care/duke-virtual-urgent-care
- Request E-visits with your doctor at https://www.dukehealth.org/telehealth-visits-evisits
- Schedule virtual visits with a provider you’ve already seen. If you need a new appointment, please call 919-642-4557. We will help you make a virtual or in-person appointment that meets your needs.
If you don’t have an account, you can create one or call 919-620-4555 or 800-782-6945 to receive an activation code. Our phone lines are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
It’s After Hours or You Don’t Have a My Duke Health Account
Duke Health Anywhere is a virtual urgent care option for people who are not Duke patients or don’t have a My Duke Health account. It is available 24/7. No appointment is needed.
Use Duke Health Anywhere after 8:00 pm and before 8:00 am when Duke’s virtual primary and urgent care is not open or when convenient appointments are unavailable. Duke Health Anywhere does not accept insurance. Visits cost $59.
Virtual visits with a primary care provider, specialist, or urgent care provider take place on a computer or mobile device with a camera using secure videoconferencing software that protects your privacy. Virtual visits are an effective way for you to receive prompt, safe medical care.
Use E-visits to Send a Secure Message to Your Care Team
Use E-visits to securely, privately, and conveniently communicate with your care team about your non-urgent medical questions and needs.
Use E-visits to securely, privately, and conveniently communicate with your Duke providers. This enhanced online messaging system allows you to receive safe medical care through My Duke Health (previously Duke MyChart) without disrupting your day for an in-person or video visit.
E-visits take place on a computer or mobile device at a time that is convenient to you and does not require a camera or videoconferencing software.
An E-visit can be initiated at any time. While we generally respond within four hours (Monday through Friday), responses can take up to one business day. If you do not receive a response or your symptoms get worse, please contact your doctor’s office. Many insurance plans cover E-visits, but you may have out-of-pocket costs.
Reach out to your insurance company if you have questions. If your provider decides you need a virtual video visit or an in-person visit instead, you will not be charged for the E-visit.
At this time, people ages 18 and older can participate in E-visits. You must also be located in North Carolina at the time of the visit.
Arrange Care for Your Family
if you are granted “proxy” access in MyChart to the individual’s information. Proxy access allows one individual to access MyChart and view certain information about another individual who is a Duke patient, as discussed below.
Proxy access is in Duke’s sole discretion and will be granted only if, and only to the extent, deemed clinically appropriate and allowable under North Carolina and federal law. Proxy access is also conditioned on a proxy agreement to and compliance with the MyChart Terms and Conditions.

Your health summary, preventive care information, past and current appointments, medications, and test results are easily accessible.

You can view your account summary and pay your bills from within the secure website. Find out more information about paying for your care at https://www.dukehealth.org/paying-for-care
